Chapters 1&2
The book's setting is in a post apocalyptic state. It is at a time after a nuclear war when society has started to rebuild. Now this reminded me of a video game called fallout were there is the same situation of mutants and the rebuilding of society. In this society people are stuck on the idea of what is human, and how the slightest deformity is "hateful in the sight of God". David grew up learning this, but began to question this as he met Sophie a sweet girl with six toes on each foot. "God couldn't hate her, could he?" David thought. I predict that later Joseph will try to kill Sophie when he finds out about her deformity.

I like how you described the setting and about what time period the novel took place in. The connection to the video game, fallout, was good, and I liked how you talked about the idea of a "human" in the society David lives in. I definitely agree with your prediction and think that Sophie will either be killed or become an outcast when people find out about her deformity.
ReplyDeletethanks bro. I like your hat.
DeleteGood reflection. I agree that what their society believes the definition of human is doesn't relate to ours.
ReplyDeletethanks
DeleteThis is, by far, the absolute, worst, most horrible, atrocious, rubbish piece of garbage I've ever laid eyes upon in the last 34 seconds. But your hat's nice, so all is forgiven.
DeleteGreat job. It can be challenging when we are young and we start to be less-sheltered. Trying to make sense of everything in this word is a daunting task! Do you see any similarities between the main character David and other characters you have read? How about similarities or differences between David's society and our own?
