Chapters 15, 16 , and 17

In chapter 15 David is woken up by Sophie. I thought this was really cool as it has been a long time and he didn`t know what happened to Sophie. But to me it seems she different. She`s matured, she is no longer that cute little innocent girl she was before, she`s become more tough and had learned how to survive. David was told not to return to the fringes camp or he`ll be shot. Sophie then takes him back to her little cave were she gives him food. she then grabs a knife and goes to get Petra and Rosalind. Luckily since spidery man has left to see to David`s pursuers and their attacks, he left someone else in charge. Sophie then kills that person and gets them back. This makes people think that David killed that person and took Petra and Rosalind away into the forest. We also learn that Sophie loves the spidery man and is jealous of Rosalind to have his eye. We also learn that the Zealand people re on their way to rescue them.
In Chapter 16 Michael informs that the Attack is on it`s way, and the Zealand people inform that they are almost there. Sophie leaves to help hold off the attack from David`s pursuers. Michael is in this fight as he joined the hunt for David so he would not be suspected as a telepath. There is a huge battle and David witnesses Sophie`s death. This is sad because she was David`s childhood friend, but at the same time not sad because she changed. Out of nowhere a ``fish like thing`` comes out of the sky and starts spraying these strands that are very sticky. they are told by the Zealand person tells them to remain still, to not struggle.
In chapter 17 David, Michael, Petra. and Rosalind are freed from this sticky stuff by the Zealand person. I thought it was really cool how they were baffled by how her face was flawless, this made sense as they never knew about makeup. The Zealand person they talks for a really long time before Michael says he`ll stay behind with Rachel until they can be picked up. The book ends with them landing at this Zealand, the city of David`s dream. I like how it really shows  theme of how stupid discrimination is. I really enjoyed this book, it was really awesome!

Chapters 13 and 14

In chapter 13 there was a lot of running from their pursuers, so nothing really important happened. Except for when Petra started talking to the Zealand people. Petra was getting better at talking through think shapes and is learning new things from her new friend who lives in this Zealand. She says that almost everybody in Zealand knows how send think pictures, and how that is the norm. This makes David and Rosalind rethink what the norm is.
In chapter 14 They were jumped by the fringes people and were taken back to their camp. But on the way one of the deviants explains why the people of the ``true image`` are wrong and that they are from the devil. this made me think of how this is kind of like the world is today. Everybody thinks they are correct. The ``True Image`` think they are from god, the Fringes think they are form God, and Zealand people think they are from God. The deviant also says something totally true, about how that how do we know that`s what crops looked like, he thought if one of the old people were to see these crops and animals, would they recognize them.
Later they come across a familiar sight, the spidery man. He looks a lot like David`s father. The spidery man explains that he is technically is David`s uncle. He explains how they found out he had long arms and legs when he was three and brought him to the fringes. I predict that David will find Sophie as the same thing probably happened to her, she was probably just brought to the fringes. The spidery man throws David out but keeps Rosalind and Petra as he expresses his want for a child, he says how all the women were made infertile before being sent to the fringes, and how that Rosalind could still have children.

Chapters 11 & 12

In chapter 11 Petra rides her pony into the forest rather far from home, then soon David picks up her distress signal and is drawn to it like before. David gets a horse and rides for the signal after getting the gun. he finds Petra's pony being devoured by a deviant creature. David raises his gun but a couple arrows kill the creature. Rosalind and Michael ride out from the forest. They soon get Petra from a tree when some of the other telepathic people come riding on in. They decide that all of them in the same place is dangerous so all but David, Rosalind and Petra stay. but before long the last two telepaths come riding in. they tell them to leave and go home but a man follows them in, Jerome, he is suspicious but does not find anything out. this part was really cool and action packed. Later David teaches Petra how to control her telepathic powers, but her signals are really strong. Later as David is talking to Petra she says something about others far away. I think that Petra is the only one of the bunch who has strong enough telepathy to hear the signals of those far away. I predict that they are going to be found out and all of the telepathic people will have to run and use Petra to find "the others" that are really far away. Finally Uncle Axel admits to killing Alan. He told David that Anne had told Alan about him and Rosalind. Michael says that Sally, Katherine, David and Rosalind should be ready to leave at any moment.

In chapter 12 David is packing supplies for the possibility of having to leave when he falls asleep. He is woken by Petra, then Rosalind explains that Sally and Katherine were taken, they then meet and start on their journey to the Fringes. Katherine is tortured into telling about Petra, Rosalind and David, but doesn't say any thing about the rest. Rosalind kills a man. And Petra talks to someone far away. She says she is from Zealand. The stranger sends pictures of a futuristic city to Petra. It is the city from David's childhood dream. I think David is going to convince Rosalind to go Zealand, and possibly go there with Michael and the others.

Chapters 9 & 10

In chapter 9 David is doing normal stuff when he starts getting pains in his head. Like a fish on a hook David is being drawn somewhere. He runs and finds Petra drowning. Rosalind was also drawn to Petra's location, and together they conclude that Petra is one of them. Later in the chapter David chills with a crazy old man who flaps his gums for a really long time about how tribulation is going to come again. After David is creeped out by the old cook he goes and asks uncle Axel if this is true. I predict that later Petra, David and Rosalind will be found out and that David and Rosalind will run away with Petra.

In chapter 10 Anne announces she is getting married to Alan. The Geek who told about Sophie being deformed. David tries to talk her out of it but she doesn't listen. then we find out that Alan was killed (serves him right). Anne then later kills herself afterward.

Chapters 7 & 8

In chapter 7 David's family gets a new member. Petra is born but at first is not declared. When a baby is born one must get a certificate to declare them as the true image. The Inspector hesitates before signing the certificate. Later David's Aunt shows up with her new baby. As the conversation goes on they find out that her baby is a deviation, later she asks her sister to swap babies so she can get her certificate. the family get out raged and tell her to pray for forgiveness  and to turn the baby in.David later then finds out that his aunt had been found dead in a river. I think as David realizes that if he was found he could be exiled or even worse killed, he could run away to the fringes or to find the other telepathic children.

In chapter 8 David talks to Uncle Axel. It seem as though uncle Axel is the only person that David can explain his thoughts on deviations to. we find out that the one telepathic child that stopped communicating with them was killed after a tree had fallen on him. David feels relieved that he was not found out but is still worried about being found out. later we also find out there is another telepathic child communicating with them. I think David is now seriously considering running away, and I think could possibly go looking for his telepathic friends.

Chapter 5 and 6

In chapter 5 David shows Sophie one of his favourite spots. they are next to the water trying to catch small water animals, and Sophie takes her shoes off. They are doing normal things that they would normally do, but someone comes up on them when they aren't expecting it. They notice that Sophie has six toes. David beats up the kid as Sophie goes home but the damage is done. Sophie and her family pack up to leave and David wants to go with them, but he can't. When david goes home his father whips him and the inspector asks him many questions. This showed me how set people are on the "perfect image" and how desperate to remove "deviations", especially Joseph.

In chapter 6 we find that Sophie and her family are caught and David expresses his feelings on "the perfect image". Uncle Axel talks about the world beyond Waknuk, but not only that he also expresses that they could not all be "the perfect image". the last thing we find out is that there are more telepaths other than David and Rosaline. We find there are 8. I think David is going to try and find the rest of the telepaths.

Chapters 3&4

In these chapters David has a dream, a nightmare really. In his dream he is with his family a normal killing of recent deviations , but this time it is not a two headed chicken or messed up corn it is his friend, Sophie. This made me think, is he maybe predicting the future? I predict that Joseph finds out about sophie and kills her. Also when David gets a splinter and starts bleeding and tries to bandage his hand. but his mom has to bandage it, David says he could have bandaged his hand if he had a third hand, but his father thought he was wishing for a third hand. His father gets angry but in David's mind he did nothing wrong.
